Join us on Monday, September 28 at 11:30 AM EDT for an expert panel that will examine alternate futures, regional realignments, and how U.S. policy could shape—and stand to be impacted by—the emergence of a new regional order.

This event will launch the CSIS Middle East Program’s Middle East Futures Project, which examines how regional and global dynamics are changing in the shadow of the Iran war. The project will explore potential trajectories for the region, distill creative solutions to address pressing challenges, and highlight the role of greater regional agency.

This panel features:

  • Prof. Vali Nasr, Majid Khadduri Professor of Middle East Studies and International Affairs, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Non-resident Senior Adviser, CSIS Middle East Program

  • Amb. (ret.) Michael Ratney, former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Non-resident Senior Adviser, CSIS Middle East Program

  • Dr. Paul Salem, Non-resident Senior Associate, CSIS Middle East Program

  • Amb. (ret.) Daniel B. Shapiro, former U.S. ambassador to Israel and Distinguished Fellow, Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative, Atlantic Council

Mona Yacoubian, CSIS Middle East Program Director and Senior Adviser, will moderate the discussion.

The panel will be livestreamed on this webpage. Register to watch below.
