Modi Government's Midterm Reform Assessment

December 1, 2021 • 9:00 – 10:00 am EST

On November 30, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government will cross the halfway point of its second term in office. Despite the Covid-19 surges, related workforce dislocations, and continued weakness in bank balance sheets, India has recently been achieving record levels of trade and investment. Our expert presenters will review the Modi government's recent track record on economic reforms and offer thoughts on priorities for the next two and a half years.

The event's speakers will include Ila Patnaik, Mihir Sharma, and Akhilesh Tilotia. The event will be moderated by Richard Rossow, the Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies at CSIS and include a short presentation on the CSIS Reform Scorecard by the Chair's Associate Fellow, Kriti Upadhyaya.

Please join the CSIS Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies for a conversation on the present government's midterm performance on foreign direct investment (FDI), economic reforms, and solving the nonperforming assets crisis.

This event is made possible through the generous contribution of the Wadhwani Foundation
