Multilateral Perspectives on Ukraine’s Economic Transformation
Brought to you by
Multilaterals and DFIs are providing critical financing for Ukraine, to support government operations and the private sector. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), for example, has committed over €3 billion in financing for Ukraine. Similarly, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) set up a $2 billion response package for reconstruction and is supporting over $1 billion worth of trade finance. In June 2023, the EBRD established the “Ukraine Investment Platform”, to promote co-financing of projects with a private sector focus. The initiative was signed by 19 participating DFIs.
The aim of this discussion was to showcase some investment opportunities from a multilateral/DFI perspective and highlight tools and mechanisms that these institutions can use (and are using) to best support private sector development in Ukraine.
