At The One-Year Mark—Gaza: The Human Toll
It has been one year since the massacre by Hamas of 1,200 Israeli citizens and soldiers and the onset of the war inside Gaza that followed immediately. The humanitarian and health crises unfolding in Gaza amidst the conflict to follow have exceeded all expectations. ‘Gaza: The Human Toll’ is a product of the CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security in active collaboration with the CSIS Humanitarian Agenda and CSIS Middle East Program. The show has convened regularly during this crisis period to capture clearly and accurately the evolving humanitarian and health situation inside Gaza.
Please join us for the 18th one-hour episode Monday, October 7, 2024, 9:00-10:00am ET, for a reflection on how the conflict and its consequences have shifted over the past year. Moderator J. Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President and Director, CSIS global Health Policy Center, will be joined by Scott Anderson, Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator and Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, Dr. Yasser Abu-Jamei, Director General of the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme, and Jon B. Alterman, Senior Vice President, Zbigniew Brzezinski Chair in Global Security and Geostrategy, and Director, CSIS Middle East Program.
This event is made possible by general support to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
