Online Event: A Conversation with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai

January 5, 2021 • 3:00 – 4:00 pm EST

The rapid deployment of 5G networks will drive U.S. economic advancement at home and promote U.S. geopolitical influence abroad. The ability to transfer masses of data at high speeds opens the door for transformational applications in fields like health, education and national defense. However, with 5G networks likely to become deeply embedded in American society, they offer a prime target for adversaries that threaten U.S. national security

Over the past four years, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has played an instrumental role in facilitating 5G deployment while shielding U.S. networks from bad actors. Please join CSIS for a conversation with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai on how the U.S. can outpace its competitors on 5G while protecting national security. The event will open with Chairman Pai’s keynote remarks, followed by a discussion between Chairman Pai and CSIS CEO John Hamre.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
