The Biden administration faces a challenging humanitarian picture as it takes office. Global humanitarian needs are soaring as a result of the intersection of violent armed conflicts, natural disasters, and the economic and social impacts of Covid-19. Restrictions on movement and strains on humanitarian funding and coordination add layers of complexity and increase the urgency for diplomatic action to respond to the most challenging crises.

To shed light on these issues, the CSIS Humanitarian Agenda welcomes Tjada D’Oyen McKenna, CEO of Mercy Corps, Dave Harden, Managing Director of the Georgetown Strategy Group, and Obi Anyadike, Senior Editor of The New Humanitarian, for a discussion that explores the humanitarian priorities for the Biden administration. This virtual event will explore different perspectives on the most pressing humanitarian issues of the day and the internal and external roadblocks the Biden administration must navigate as they seek to improve humanitarian outcomes.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
