Online Event: Strategic Shift in Northeast Asia: Future Policies and Strategies
The Commission on Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula now premieres the first pre-recorded event, a “Strategic Shift in Northeast Asia: Future Policies and Strategies” for the public to get a glimpse into the inner workings of a new project focusing on the U.S.-ROK Alliance.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies with the Chey Institute of Advanced Studies brought together world-renowned experts and thought leaders from Korea and the United States to discuss the future of foreign policy in Northeast Asia in the new Biden administration and beyond.
Speakers included: Dr. Victor Cha, Senior Adviser and Korea Chair of CSIS; Ambassador Park In-Kook, President of the Chey Institute; Dr. Joseph S Nye Jr., Distinguished Service Professor of Harvard University; Dr. John Hamre, President and CEO of CSIS; General Vincent Brooks, former Commander of the USFK, UN Command, and ROK-US Combined Forces Command; Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hong-koo; Former Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade Yoon Young-kwan; and General Jung Seung-jo, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the ROK Armed Forces. The discussion was moderated by Professor Sohn Jie-ae, former Chief of CNN’s Seoul Bureau.
