Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN): Implications for 5G and 6G
Available Downloads
Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) technology can create opportunities for multi-vendor collaboration in network production. While traditional Radio Access Network (RAN) requires one singular vendor to provide all the technology used in the network, O-RAN enables increased competition, diversifies vendors, and reduces costs for network operators. The possibilities of O-RAN have increased attention on the technology from members of Congress, specifically as a potential alternative to network providers banned by the U.S.
Please join CSIS for an event on the potential of O-RAN with Chris Boyer, Vice President of Global Security and Technology Policy at AT&T, Rachelle Celebrezze, Director of Government Relations at VMware and Diane Rinaldo, Executive Director at Open RAN Policy Coalition.
This event is done in collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).
