PepsiCo & WFP: A Public-Private Partnership to Transform Nutrition across Africa

In September 2011, USAID, PepsiCo, and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) teamed up in a partnership to combat malnutrition in the Horn of Africa, improve the livelihoods of local farmers, and strengthen domestic and export markets through chickpea production in Ethiopia. This public-private partnership – Enterprise EthioPEA – will leverage the unique resources of its partners to apply market-based solutions to alleviate hunger and poverty while supporting sustainable growth in Ethiopia.
