Welcome Remarks:

The Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) is pleased to invite you to a debate on the future of bilateral arms control with Robert Joseph, Senior Scholar, National Institute for Public Policy, and Steven Pifer, Director, Arms Control Initiative, Brookings Institution.

With implementation of the New START Treaty underway, nuclear experts are now turning to the next round of arms control negotiations between the United States and the Russian Federation.  PONI brings together two of the leading arms control experts to discuss the pros and cons of another US-Russian bilateral arms control treaty.

This event is the 11th installment of PONI's ongoing live debate series, which is an extension of the PONI Debates the Issues (PDI) blog. The objective of the series is to provide a forum for in-depth examination of arguments on both sides of key nuclear issues.

Please join us for what promises to be an insightful evening on a timely topic.
RSVP to Chris Jones at cjones@csis.org or (202) 775-3234.
