Public-Private Dialogue: Advancing Water and Sanitation Initiatives in India

November 15, 2024 • 8:30 – 9:30 am EST

India has made significant investments in water and sanitation through its national missions. The Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation have mobilized billions in public funds, developed effective policies and adopted a mission-driven approach to advance Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 in India. The goal is to ensure safe, equitable and sustainable water and sanitation services in the long term.

However, public spending alone is insufficient to meet the increased investment needed to achieve SDG 6. The private sector can offer new capital, enhance sector efficiencies, and introduce technological innovations in the water and sanitation sector. By fostering collaborations that leverage the strengths of both the public and private sectors, India can ensure that its infrastructure and services are both effective, sustainable and resilient in the long term.

Please join the Chair in India and Emerging Asia Economics for a webinar on Public-Private Dialogue: Advancing Water and Sanitation Initiatives in India on November 15, 2024 from 8:30AM to 9:30AM ET // 7:00PM to 8:00PM IST
