Purchasing for Impact: Making Procurement Work for All
Brought to you by
Please join the CSIS Project on Prosperity and Development, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), for a discussion on procurement in support of localization and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Leading procurement executives from national and multilateral development agencies will share their experience putting “development spend” to best use to increase development results, support local capabilities, and guarantee the greatest impact.
Government procurement amounts to $11 trillion per year worldwide, around 13 percent of global GDP. Sustainable approaches to public procurement therefore present a significant long-term economic opportunity for businesses of all sizes and the chance to drive progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Against the backdrop of constrained global public finances, sustainable and strategic public procurement can help maximize impact, alleviate fiscal constraints, and promote efficient use of resources.
This event was made possible through the generous support of UNOPS.
