Quad Cancer Moonshot Initiative: Strategic U.S.-Japan Health Security Cooperation
Brought to you by
Among longstanding U.S. allies, the exceptional strength and resilience of the U.S.-Japanese bilateral relationship and the recent expansion of security cooperation creates new opportunities for expanded U.S.-Japan health security collaborations. The CSIS studio broadcast series, “Strategic U.S.-Japan Health Security Cooperation,” produced by the CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security, aims to highlight areas of mutual health interest between the United States and Japan and offer future operations to expand the U.S.-Japan alliance and regional health security.
Please join us for our first episode, Tuesday, October 29, 1:00-2:00pm ET, for a discussion of the Quad’s health security capabilities and the recently published CSIS Commentary, The Quad’s Cancer Moonshot Initiative. The Quad—comprised of the United States, Japan, India, and Australia—has laid a strong foundation for healthcare cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region through its work on Covid-19 vaccines and the Health Security Partnership. The new Quad Cancer Moonshot Initiative aims to advance elimination of cervical cancer and build on the work in healthcare the grouping has accomplished. Katherine Bliss, Senior Fellow and Director, Immunizations and Health Systems Resilience, CSIS Global Health Policy Center, will be joined by Erin Murphy, Deputy Director and Senior Fellow, CSIS Chair on India and Emerging Asia Economics.
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
