Recent Trends in the South China Sea and U.S. Policy
The Fourth Annual CSIS South China Sea Conference
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will host a select and high-level group of experts and senior policymakers for a two-day conference on “Recent Trends in the South China Sea and U.S. Policy” on July 10 and 11. The two-day conference will be held at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), 1616 Rhode Island Ave, NW, Washington, DC.
The conference will feature speeches by a member of Congress and senior administration officials, and remarks and discussion by an all-star lineup of South China Sea and legal experts, including representatives from Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
“Recent Trends in the South China Sea and U.S. Policy” will shed light on recent developments in the South China Sea and assess the roles of outside powers in the conflict with a special focus on U.S. policy options for responding to the tensions. The conference will include a simulation featuring U.S. responses to a hypothetical crisis in the South China Sea.
