Remembering Dr. Janet Ballantyne

Friday, December 8, 2017 10:00 am - 11:30 am
CSIS Headquarters

This public panel discussion hopes to pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. Janet Ballantyne, a life-long foreign service officer at USAID, who passed away earlier this year.

During her 33-year career, Dr. Ballantyne served as deputy mission director in Nepal and Morocco and mission director in Nicaragua, Russia, and the Central Asian Republics. In 2016, she was recognized by USAID's administrator for a lifetime of service to the agency and to the American people and extraordinary committment to global development. Dr. Ballantyne was a trailblazer for women in the foreign service as well. This event includes panelists who worked with Dr. Ballantyne at different stages of her career. Each will share remarks on her legacy and stories of her leadership.

Please join us for this important discussion. Directly following the event at 11:30AM, there will be a coffee reception in the lobby on the ground floor at CSIS.
