Report Launch: The Future of the U.S.-UK Intelligence Alliance

Tuesday, March 15, 2022 10:00 am - 11:00 am
CSIS Headquarters

Over the past 75 years, the United States and the United Kingdom have built the deepest intelligence alliance in the world. Despite decades of cooperation, however, there exists today a significant misalignment between the strategic prioritization of this “special relationship” and the regulations, policies, organizational cultures, and technologies that facilitate its day-to-day activities.

Building on its ongoing work to assess the future of the intelligence, CSIS, in partnership with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), undertook a ten-month project to develop a roadmap for the next era of the U.S.-UK intelligence alliance. The final report from this study proposes a set of six priorities that the U.S. and UK intelligence communities should jointly pursue to enable robust, scalable, and rapid collaboration.

To discuss the findings of this report and more, Intelligence Fellow in the CSIS International Security Program Jake Harrington will moderate a panel discussion featuring Kari Bingen, Chief Strategy Officer at HawkEye 360 and former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security; James Danoy, Former Executive at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency; Samantha Clark, General Counsel at Rebellion Defense; and Edward Ferguson, Minister Counsellor Defence, British Embassy Washington DC.

This event is made possible by support from Rebellion Defense.
