Report Rollout: North American Oil Infrastructure

Thursday, February 26, 2015 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Center for Strategic and International Studies2nd Floor Conference Room1616 Rhode Island Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20036

The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to host the rollout of its newly released report, Delivering the Goods: Making the Most of North America’s Evolving Oil Infrastructure.

Presenting the findings from the report will be Sarah O. Ladislaw, Director and Senior Fellow of the CSIS Energy and National Security Program.

Following the report overview, an expert panel will discuss key market and policy issues for the North American energy landscape.

Speakers include:
Adam Sieminski

Administrator of the Energy Information Administration

Kevin Book
Managing Director at ClearView Energy Partners and Senior Associate with the CSIS Energy and National Security Program

Harry Vidas
Vice President of ICF International

A key consideration for realizing the benefits of the current boom in unconventional oil and gas development is making certain that supplies can reach demand centers. The pipelines and other infrastructure required to convey these resources involve not only federal and state regulations and environmental assessments but effective management of potential impacts on the communities through which they travel. Through this project, the CSIS Energy and National Security Program hopes to raise the overall level of understanding about the near, medium, and longer-term economic, environmental, and security impacts of the evolution of this infrastructure network for the United States, as well as North America and the broader global energy market.
