Rethinking Security on the Road to the 2022 Summit of the Americas

November 17, 2021 • 11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST

Please join the CSIS Americas Program for a virtual discussion on the regional dimensions of collaboration over security concerns ahead of the 2022 Summit of the Americas.

Major security issues in the Americas such as drug financed criminal networks, interference from external actors, and the spread of disinformation do not respect national boundaries and have a direct impact on political stability, corruption, and migration. The 2022 Summit of the Americas provides a unique opportunity to consider a more ample view of security that goes well beyond protecting borders and embraces human security concerns.

This event will assess the most pressing security concerns facing the region and will provide recommendations for how to best leverage the forum to strengthen regional cooperation on security matters.

This event was made possible through general support to CSIS.
