Rising to the Moment - Launching USAID's new Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance
Brought to you by
Please join the CSIS Project on Prosperity and Development and the CSIS Human Rights Initiative, in collaboration with USAID’s new Democracy, Human Rights and Governance (DRG) Bureau, on Thursday, October 19 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM ET for an engaging panel discussion featuring DRG leaders on the launch of the Bureau at this pivotal moment.
The event will include keynote remarks from the Assistant to the Administrator, Shannon N. Green, followed by a panel that will explore ongoing challenges facing democracies and how to holistically embrace DRG principles and practices in our foreign policy and development sectors. How can we collectively elevate democracy, human rights, and governance in USG foreign policy? How can we better anticipate and respond to corruption, malign influence, manipulation of elections, disinformation, and other threats to democratic processes, norms, and institutions? How can this community advance democracy and development linkages to propel democratic progress and sustainable development?
There will be an informal celebration after the public event in the CSIS Atrium from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
