On May 19, 2011 the CSIS Russia & Eurasia Program hosted a one-day conference in Moscow, Russia, in partnership with the Higher School of Economics, Russia. The conference, entitled “Russia's Global Health Leadership,” assessed the emerging global health leadership of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). In particular, the discussion focused on the relationship between Russia’s domestic health situation and its international health work, as well as its engagement in the global health arena.
