SAVE FOOD: The FAO's Global Initiative on Food Losses and Waste Reduction

On November 7, 2013, Dr. Olaf Thieme gave a presentation on FAO's SAVE FOOD: Global Initiative on Food Losses and Waste Reduction. The goal of this initiative is to raise awareness on the impact of, and solutions for, food loss and waste; seek collaboration and coordination of world-wide initiatives on food loss and waste reduction policy; develop strategies and programs for food loss and waste reduction; and support investment programs implemented by private and public sectors. 

Dr. Olaf Thieme is a Technial Officer and a member of the FAO's interdepartmental working groups on Food Losses and Waste Reduction since 2011.
