This event launches the companion CSIS report. Colonel Mark F. Cancian (USMCR, ret.), Senior Advisor in the International Security Program at CSIS, will lead a moderated discussion with Dr. Charles Edel, Senior Advisor and Australia Chair at CSIS, Ms. Becca Wasser, Senior Fellow for the Defense Program and lead of The Gaming Lab at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), and Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery (USN, ret.), Senior Director of the Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI) and Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD). The discussion will explore ways in which the United States and its partners can cover the capability gaps that exist in the Western Pacific until the AUKUS Pillar I submarine fleet is operational.
