Smart Women, Smart Power @ 10
Brought to you by
In October 2024, the Center for Strategic and International Studies Smart Women, Smart Power Initiative is celebrating its tenth anniversary. To kick off the celebration, please join us for a conversation with HON Kathleen H. Hicks, Deputy Secretary of Defense. Deputy Secretary Hicks will sit down with Ms. Beverly Kirk, Director of Washington Programs at Syracuse University, for a discussion on her approach to the world’s simultaneous challenges, including the Russia-Ukraine crisis and China, as well as how the Department is structuring change to last from one administration to the next.
This conversation will be followed by a panel that explores women’s leadership during Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine and how women are leading the charge in both prosecuting the war and planning for peace.
