The Freeman Chair in China Studies hosted Dr. Hu Sheng-Cheng, chairman of Taiwan's Council for Economic Planning and Development, Executive Yuan, for a speech titled "Taiwan's Economic Future and the Role of a U.S.-Taiwan FTA."

Grant Aldonas, former under secretary for international trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce and now the Scholl Chair in International Business at CSIS, introduced Dr. Hu and moderated the event.
