Spurring Private Investment in Africa

March 25, 2022 • 9:00 – 10:00 am EDT

As African economies gradually recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, investment opportunities abound in agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare, telecommunications, information technology, education, and other key sectors. With a dynamic and young population, and growing demands for more commerce and better services, African markets offer tremendous potential to investors. While structural barriers and legal challenges exist, African countries strive to address these hurdles through regional economic communities and other mechanisms, such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

On March 25, 2022, join the CSIS Africa Program for an expert panel on private investment in Africa. Speakers will take stock of the current business climate and explore practical ways to spur more investment.

This event is made possible with generous support from the Embassy of Japan.
