The State of Taiwan: What's Next after the Trump-Xi meeting?
Brought to you by
Join the CSIS China Power Project on November 10th from 9:00-10:30 am ET to unpack cross-Strait dynamics and U.S. policy toward Taiwan in the wake of President Trump's meeting with Xi Jinping on the sidelines of APEC. What do the outcomes of this meeting signal about the state of U.S.-Taiwan relations? How might China shift its approach toward the island? How are Taiwan and close U.S. allies like Japan assessing the island's situation? What do we see for the future of cross-Strait dynamics?
To answer these questions and more, we are joined by four leading experts: Dan Blumenthal (Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute), Bonnie Glaser (Managing Director of the German Marshall Fund’s Indo-Pacific program), I-Chung Lai (President of the Taiwan Prospect Foundation), and Ryo Sahashi (Professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia within the University of Tokyo).
Dr. Bonny Lin, director of the China Power Project and senior adviser at CSIS, will moderate the discussion.
This event is made possible through generous support from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office
