The African Union (AU) has declared 2015 the year of women’s empowerment and development in Africa. Join us for a Statesmen’s Forum to discuss the AU’s vision for gender equality with AU Chairperson H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma. Dr. Zuma will address the major priorities that African women have identified as crucial to supporting empowerment including: women’s health, quality of education, peace and security, agriculture, and economic opportunity. The conversation will highlight the economic, political, and social achievements of women in Africa, and examine the challenges that remain in recognizing and protecting the rights of women on the continent.
