Center for Strategic and International Studies1616 Rhode Island Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20036

The Center for Strategic and International Studies Cordially invites you to a Statesman's Forum on A New European Gray Zone? Securing Latvia and the Baltic Sea Region Against Hybrid Threats.

Featuring:
H.E. Raimonds Vejonis
Latvian Minister of Defence

Moderated by:
Ms. Heather A. Conley
Senior Vice President for Europe, Eurasia, and the Arctic
Director, CSIS Europe Program

Please join us for a timely discussion with the Latvian Minister of Defence, Raimonds Vejonis, on the effectiveness of NATO’s collective defense and deterrence efforts through its Readiness Action Plan,  Very-High Readiness Joint Task Force, Multinational Commands and increased exercise and training schedule.  As Russia continues to hold snap military exercises and make air and sea incursions in the Baltic region, Minister Vejonis will share his insights on Russian military capabilities and the Kremlin’s intentions, as well as discuss the ways that Latvia is strengthening its territorial defenses, enhancing U.S.-Latvian defense cooperation, and prioritizing the implementation of NATO’s collective defense measures.  Minister Vejonis will also discuss the EU's efforts to enhance its common security and defense policy framework during Latvia’s EU Presidency in anticipation of the June European Council meeting.
