Statesmen's Forum: Shashi Tharoor, UN Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information

Shashi Tharoor, currently the United Nations' under-secretary-general for communications and public information, spoke at a CSIS Statesmen's Forum. Tharoor, India's candidate to succeed Kofi Annan as the UN secretary-general, spoke about the future of the UN.

John Hamre, CSIS's president and CEO, introduced Tharoor.

Teresita Schaffer, director of CSIS's South Asia Program, moderated the event.
