Straight Talk on Trade: Ideas for a Sane World Economy

Tuesday, December 5, 2017 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
CSIS Headquarters

Please join the CSIS Simon Chair for a conversation with Dani Rodrik on his new book, "Straight Talk on Trade: Ideas for a Sane World Economy." This book explores the political and economic impact of globalization and past failures to address these dislocations. Rodrik offers recommendations on how to preserve the benefits globalization has brought while addressing the legitimate discontent it has created.

The conversation will take place from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on December 5th in the 1st floor conference room, and will be followed by a small reception and book signing.

Matthew Goodman, William E. Simon Chair in Political Economy at CSIS will give a brief introduction to the event, followed by a discussion with Dani Rodrik and Scott Miller, Senior Adviser and Scholl Chair in International Business at CSIS.

This event is part of the Simon Chair's Economic Statecraft Speaker Series, a forum to highlight the strategic role of economics in foreign policy and to explore the making of international economic policy. It is made possible by the generous support of Arconic Foundation.
