Swaminathan to CSIS for a keynote address followed by an armchair discussion focused on the role of science in informing public policy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goalto eradicate hunger by 2030. The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation works to enlist science and technology as allies in the movement for sustainable development through the equitable dissemination of technology to improve the livelihoods of rural and developing communities.

Dr. Swaminathan is recognized as the father of India’s Green Revolution, and he received the first World Food Prize, in 1987, for his role in introducing high-yielding wheat varieties to India’s farmers.
