Systemic Threats to Press Freedom in Venezuela

April 25, 2018 • 3:30 – 5:00 pm EDT

Please join us on Wednesday, April 25th at 3:30 pm for a conversation with a panel of journalists from a variety of Venezuelan media outlets. Four active journalists, Diana Carolina Ruiz, Javier Ignacio Mayorca, Roman Lozinski, and Cinzia Patrizia Spadaro, will share their on-the-ground perspectives on the current state of press freedom, repression, and the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

The event will also serve as a central feature of Voices of Venezuela, a week-long program hosted by CSIS Americas which convenes the selected journalists in Washington, D.C. to learn about the U.S. policy-making process and share their experiences from Venezuela. The presentations by our panelists will be followed by an audience Q&A. The presentation will be given in Spanish; English translation headsets will be provided.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
