Over the past year, an interdisciplinary team of CSIS scholars, working under the guidance of a Senior Advisory Group of distinguished former officials undertook a comprehensive assessment of Turkey’s internal developments and changing relations with its neighbors and the United States. A week before President Obama’s trip to Turkey, Dr. Brzezinski and General Scowcroft discussed Turkey’s importance to the Unites States and the value of this study.
