Unmanned Systems in Homeland Security

December 16, 2015 • 10:00 – 11:30 am EST

Report Release and Discussion

Over the course of 2014, the Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute (HSSAI), a Federally Funded Research and Development Center operated by ANSER on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security, and the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies partnered for a comprehensive examination of unmanned systems technology. This study, Unmanned Systems in Homeland Security, considered current use of and potential future application for this technology in the homeland security enterprise.

The key findings of this study will be presented, followed by a panel discussion on how the thinking about unmanned systems in homeland security has evolved. This discussion will include consideration of the barriers to increased integration and inherent limitations of unmanned systems in homeland security missions.

This event and report was made possible by the Department of Homeland Security through HSSAI's Core Research Program 2014.
