The recently concluded 6th Plenum of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party marked the further consolidation of power by Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The meeting strongly signaled that Xi will remain in power beyond next year’s 20th Party Congress, but it also sent important signals on the future direction of domestic and foreign policy.
