U.S. EIA's International Energy Outlook 2023

October 11, 2023 • 9:30 – 10:30 am EDT

The CSIS Energy Security & Climate Change Program is pleased to host Dr. Joseph DeCarolis, Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), and Angelina LaRose, Assistant Administrator for Energy Analysis, for a presentation and discussion of the EIA's International Energy Outlook 2023 (IEO2023).

Following the presentation, Dr. Joseph Majkut, director of the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program will join Dr. DeCarolis for an armchair discussion on the IEO’s highlights and key assumptions and how the IEO can be helpful in informing policymakers.

The IEO2023 presents long-term projections of world energy supply and demand. The IEO2023 models projections of energy markets through 2050 and explores a variety of different assumptions about economic growth, world oil prices, and technological innovation. The full IEO2023 report and data tables will be released on the EIA website at the conclusion of the event.
