The U.S.-Japan Alliance in 2024: Toward an Integrated Alliance

April 4, 2024 • 4:15 – 5:00 pm EDT

Brought to you by

In the year 2000 Richard Armitage and Joseph Nye brought together a bipartisan group to develop a vision for the U.S.-Japan alliance before the presidential election, to serve as a roadmap for the relationship regardless of which party won. Since then, they have built on this tradition of bipartisanship in the U.S.-Japan relationship with reports in 2007, 2012, 2018, and 2020.

The strategic environment that the United States and Japan face today, and the urgency of action needed to address it, demands an even stronger call to action. Please join us for the release of the next iteration of this report: The U.S.-Japan Alliance in 2024: Toward an Integrated Alliance.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
