The U.S.-Japan Alliance: More Important Than Ever

October 3, 2018 • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EDT

In light of the mounting challenges facing the U.S.-Japan alliance, Ambassador Richard L. Armitage and Professor Joseph S. Nye will release a bi-partisan study on the U.S.-Japan alliance. Ambassador Armitage and Professor Nye will be joined by members of the study group--which includes Kara Bue, Zack Cooper, Victor Cha, Matthew Goodman, Michael Green, Kevin Nealer, and Sheila Smith--as they present the report's findings and recommendations. This report is intended to help fortify the U.S.-Japan alliance by putting forward an ambitious but attainable agenda from now through 2030. Copies of the report will be available at the event.

This event is made possible by general support to CSIS.
