U.S. Space-Based Military Capabilities
At a CSIS Military Strategy Forum on June 5, General Lance Lord, Commander of the U.S. Air Force Space Command, discussed U.S. space-based military capabilities. Lord discussed the role of such forces in military strategy planning; shared his thoughts on how U.S. space command will evolve; and highlighted efforts to develop a family of space concepts-of-operation (CONOPS) that would support the Air Force chief of staff's Task Force CONOPS. Following General Lord's address, Michèle Flournoy, CSIS Senior Advisor, moderated the question and answer session.
