Venezuela’s Presidential Elections and the Response of the International Community
Please join us on Friday, May 25th at 11:00 AM for a public conversation with Julio Borges, congressman and former president of the Venezuelan National Assembly. CSIS President & CEO Dr. John Hamre will provide opening remarks. The discussion will focus on how the international community should respond following Venezuela's May 20 presidential elections, and Mr. Borges will share his insights into the current political dynamics of the Venezuelan crisis and how the country can move forward.
Mr. Borges is a veteran of opposition politics in Venezuela. He has served as a representative of his party in Venezuela’s National Assembly for 13 years and currently is one of the leaders of the MUD, one coalition of the opposition parties.
