Crash Course: Trade Policy with the Trade Guys is a 1.5-day, hybrid seminar for public and private sector professionals working on international trade matters. The purpose of the program is to improve participant knowledge of American trade policy and politics.
Overview
Crash Course: Trade Policy with the Trade Guys is a 1.5-day seminar for public and private sector professionals working on international trade matters. The purpose of the program is to improve participant knowledge of American trade policy and politics.
This program is conducted by CSIS experts Scott Miller and Bill Reinsch, known as The Trade Guys from their highly-rated weekly podcast. Participants will walk away from the course having gained an expanded professional network along with greater knowledge of U.S. economic policy implementation and the operation and effect of trade laws.
Curriculum
The curriculum is comprised of a series of seminars that will address a range of topics, including:
- How trade policy is formulated by the executive branch and Congress
- How trade remedy (AD/CVD) laws work and the obligations of respondents
- How U.S. trade laws support or prevent specific actions
- Key trade issues for U.S. policymakers
- The challenges of multilateral institutions
Eligibility
This course is open to anyone new to international trade or looking for a refresher course on American trade policy.
