Book Talk: Afghanistan Insiders at CSIS

WASHINGTON, March 8, 2010 – The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) will host a discussion with Roy Guttman, Foreign Editor for McClatchy Newspapers and author of How We Missed the Story: Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban and the Hijacking of Afghanistan, and Dr. Nadir Atash, author of Turbulence: The Tumultuous Journey of One Man’s Quest to Bring Change to Afghanistan. They will discuss how critical the understanding of a country’s history, culture, and people are to formulating U.S. policy, and an assessment of the current counterinsurgency and reintegration efforts.
