CSIS to Break Ground for New Headquarters at 1616 Rhode Island Ave

WASHINGTON, May 10, 2011 – The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) invites you to join us for a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of its new headquarters to be located at 1616 Rhode Island Avenue, NW on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00AM.

The new CSIS office building is designed to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification.  The building will feature 130,000 square feet of office space and conference rooms equipped with the latest technology, and will be capable of hosting hundreds of people at any one time.  The project is expected to cost approximately $100 million and is scheduled to deliver in fall 2013.

CSIS’s new home was designed by Hickok Cole Architects and the building will be constructed by HITT Contracting, Inc.  Jones Lang LaSalle served as CSIS’s real estate services partner. They will also continue to serve as the project’s manager going forward.
