CSIS Launches Task Force on Women’s and Family Health

WASHINGTON, December 4, 2015 —Today, the CSIS Global Health Policy Center launched the Task Force on Women’s and Family Health. The task force brings together a distinguished and diverse group of leaders from Congress, academia, foundations, global health community, and private sector to chart a bold vision for the future of U.S. leadership to support the health of women and families around the world.

The task force is co-chaired by Helene Gayle, CEO of McKinsey Social Initiative; and John Hammergren, Chairman, President, and CEO of McKesson Corporation. They are joined by:

Over the course of the next year, this high-level group will examine the sectors that drive progress in women’s and family health – family planning and reproductive health; maternal, newborn, and child health; nutrition; and immunizations – to determine what has been done, what has worked, and what opportunities remain for programs to be more effective and sustainable. The task force’s final product will be a concrete road map for how the next Administration and Congress can best contribute to the spectrum of issues that impact the health of women and families into the future.
