Deputy NSA Froman, Mexico Amb. Sarukhan & McGraw-Hill CEO to Keynote G-20 Conference at CSIS

June 4, 2012

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2012 – The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) Simon Chair in Political Economy will host a conference on Global Economic Governance Conference on the “Outlook for the G-20 Los Cabos Summit”
 
The conference will feature keynote addresses by Michael Froman, Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economic Affairs, Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan, Mexico's Ambassador to the United States and Harold "Terry" McGraw III, CEO of McGraw-Hill Companies, Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Chairman of the United States Council for International Business (USCIB). Panel 1: Los Cabos Summit Agenda – this session will address key issues on the G20’s core agenda for global financial recovery, including macro-economic issues, financial regulation, IFI reform, role of the Financial Stability Board, and U.S. financial industry perspectives.
 
Panel 2: The Business Agenda, Trade and Green Growth – this session will explore the G20’s extended agenda of policy issues, including trade, energy, green growth, anti-corruption, and financing for development. The session will also preview business recommendations to be presented to G20 leaders during the G20 Business Summit in Los Cabos.
 
Panel 3: A conversation with the G20 Sherpa – this session will feature a one-on-one exchange discussion between Michael Froman (the US G20 Sherpa and Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economic Affairs) and Terry McGraw (ICC Vice-Chairman and Chairman and CEO of the McGraw-Hill Companies) on US government and global business priorities for the Los Cabos Summit.
 
The event will also feature the introduction of two reports authored by the ICC:
 
1.A compendium of business recommendations, prepared by 120 CEOs in advance of the G20 Los Cabos Summit
 
2. The ICC G20 Business Scorecard, an assessment of G20 responsiveness to Business community policy recommendations.
