In Memoriam: Dr. Vartan Gregorian

WASHINGTON, April 16, 2021: CSIS president and CEO John J. Hamre today released the following statement on the passing of Dr. Vartan Gregorian:

“CSIS mourns the death of a great friend, Vartan Gregorian. Vartan was a true leader of intellectual advancement in the world of public policy. Endlessly curious and passionate, Vartan pushed all of us in the policy world to think deeper and more creatively about the great problems of the day. He embodied the archetype of constructive leadership in the policy world. His long and creative life is a shining testament to his character and intellect. We are proud to have worked with him through his amazingly productive years of service.”
