A Shared Fate? Regional and Internal Politics in Pakistan and Afghanistan

In a recent op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, Lord Patten of Barnes, co-chair of the International Crisis Group (ICG), argued that Pakistan’s primary export to Afghanistan is instability, and that Afghanistan will never be secure unless Pakistan's military government is replaced with a democracy.

Experts from CSIS and ICG hosted a discussion incorporating current field-based research with high-level policy analysis.
