Northern Europe Security Roundtable
Assessing and Deterring the Threat
In light of recent and troubling maritime and airspace incursion incidents in the Baltic Sea region, this roundtable will examine and assess the impact of NATO’s Readiness Action Plan, European Reassurance Initiative, as well as future exercise and training plans for Northern Europe. The discussion will also address the interplay among and efficiency of bilateral, regional, and NATO defense and security measures. Our expert discussants, such as the Estonian Chief of Defense General Riho Terras, will address these issues and offer their perspectives on the future role of NATO in Northern Europe, as well as the costs of regional uncertainty and inaction.
The workshop is hosted in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of Defense Studies (IFS) and Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), with generous financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
