A Banyan tree Leadership Forum with Honorable Cesar Purisima

Investing in Alliances: Philippine Reforms Mean Business
Thursday, September 22, 2011 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
B1 Conference CenterCenter for Strategic and International Studies1800 K Street, NWWashington DC, 20006

Please join us for this important speech by Philippines Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima. Secretary Purisima will discuss new developments in the Philippine economy as a result of President Aquino’s reform program, and highlight new areas for cooperation with the United States. The government is ramping up its own spending to counteract global recessionary forces. The Philippines’ global competitiveness indicators are surging and the Department Finance has acted to sharply narrow the government’s budget deficit by increasing revenue collection and slashing wasteful spending.

Keynote Remarks by:

The Honorable Cesar Purisima

Introduction by:

Ernest Z. Bower
Senior Adviser & Director for Southeast Asia
CSIS

He has also served as Chair and Member of the Board of many government companies including the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), the Land Bank of the Philippines, and the Monetary Board.
