Bangladesh-U.S. Relations: Against Terrorism Together

On May 23, Bangladeshi Foreign Minister M. Morshed Kahn outlined the foreign policy priorities of the new government in Bangladesh, with particular emphasis on the Bangladeshi-U.S. relationship and the country's support for the U.S.-led war against terrorism. Minster Khan also discussed his country's development agenda, highlighting its progress on social welfare issues and its primary objective of poverty reduction. "Bangladesh recognizes that security goes beyond the weapons a nation possesses' it extends to raising living standards and building stable and healthy democracies," said Khan.
